Being the mom of two babies ages 2 and under means I have had to come up with some different Easter Basket gift ideas for my babies. Since packing it full of candy is something I would like to prevent for my own sanity, I prefer to spend money on other items. So, here is the list of items that I’ve put in baskets over the last few years, in addition to the traditional stuffed bunny.
Infant Basket Ideas
I’ve personally experienced baby baskets and toddler baskets. My girl will be 5 months by the time Easter comes around, so I’ve come up with a few items that she will enjoy now and not have to wait to use. These items are better suited for babies, but you can make changes depending on your child’s interests and abilities.
- Teething toys
- Books
- Socks
- Shoes
- Hairbows or Bowties
- Puffs
- Rattles
- Bottles
- Baby food
- Yogurt Melts
Toddler Basket Ideas
Toddlers have often developed their own interests at their age. I have a 2-year-old boy, but his interests are pretty versatile. He has an obsession with regular kid things, but also with sunglasses – which he calls “glassies.” It’s too cute. He also will only eat most veggies if they come pureed in those little pouches. We call them grabbers. He loves them. I’ve altered some of the things that we get regularly – I feel bad putting grabbers in his basket when we buy them at the grocery store every week. Because of this, I altered it a bit for the basket gift.
The following ideas are ones that my own toddler loves!
- Cars
- Books
- Rainboots
- Apple sauce pouches
- Toothbrush & toothpaste
- Sunglasses
- Hat
- Dried fruit
- Stickers
- Crayons & coloring book
We try to keep Easter baskets to simpler gifts. Big gifts are saved for birthdays and Christmas. That doesn’t mean that our babies are so excited to see the new goodies that they get in their baskets!
What are you putting in your little’s Easter baskets this year?
